I am from a small town of Port Macquarie on the mid-north coast of NSW, Australia but was born in the ‘even smaller town’ of Armidale in November of 1990. I grew up living with my mum, Robbi, and younger brother, Nick. When I’m not on the bike I like to spend my time at the beach, shopping and watching the latest movies. I also don’t mind wasting some time on Facebook.
I began cycling through a talent ID program run by the North Coast Academy of Sport back in 2005. I choose to ‘try out’ for the program as I thought it might help my ability to improve in soccer, which was my other sport at that time. This development program, run from my home town of Port Macquarie, put me in touch right away with my first trainer and coach; Kevin Fletcher and my current coach Graham Seers. Since then I have represented Australia at two junior World Championships for the Road Race, been a member of the Australian Institute of Sport and raced all over the world including Australasia, America and Europe for the past three years. During this time I have also studied at the Universities of UNSW and now UNE and I am currently completing a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning via Distance education.
In the future represent Australia at the World Championships, Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games in the hunt for medals. I hope you will enjoy following this journey just as much as I hope to!
